This song is very typical of a pop song as it uses key forms of cinematography. For example, a variety of shots are used at a fast pace to keep up with the song and prevent viewer fatigue. Key shots that were included are close ups. These are very important shots as they show the singers emotions and feelings which can reflect onto the audience. Other types of shots that were used include long low shots. These are used as establishing shots as they allow the audience to see where the video has been set and what they song may be about. A distinctive long shot shows Miley Cyrus singing on the back of a car with her friends dancing in the background. This enables the audience to see clearly what’s happening and feel like they are also joining in with the party.
Furthermore, Mis-en-scene has effectively been taken into account. For example, the costumes are very typical of a pop song and typical of the age. Miley Cyrus’s costume does not change throughout the entire video; however the colours within the costumes and within the entire video make the music video look very fun and exciting.
